Brussels-based Architect and designer Alain Berteau (°1971) has always been committed to developing and promoting relevant design solutions through innovative typologies and functional improvements. His work has been produced by companies such as Montis, spHaus, Bulo, Feld, Lensvelt, Vange and Magazin. His original architecture practice has evolved into an award-winning product and interior design agency, which was the first to receive the Interieur Kortrijk Biennale designer of the year award in 2006.
The exhibition “Alain Berteau Design Works, Brussels” showcases new designs by Alain Berteau and focuses on his most recent collaborations with leading Belgian brands AGC, Aquamass, Aluci, Atoma, Betools, RVB and Tamawa. A range of new products designed, developed and often even produced in the European capital will be unveiled as part of the show which will include furniture, lamps, a bathtub, faucets, stationary and accessories.
The opening night will also feature the book launch of “Useful Feelings”, a graphic explanation of Alain Berteau’s approach to design published by Stichting Kunstboek. The book concentrates on his creations through a study of various objects, providing an intriguing narrative of one designer’s thought-process. Alain Berteau’s aim in this publication is to offer an insight into the power of simplicity as a tool for contemporary designers.
